Sands leads the collaboration of partners who have developed the National Bereavement Care Pathway to improve the quality and consistency of bereavement care received by parents in NHS trusts after pregnancy loss or the death of a baby.
Based around nine core standards, guidance materials for the five experiences has been regularly updated after input from parents and professionals, and can be found in the ‘for professionals’ section.
Sands leads the NBCP in partnership with a number of baby loss charities and Royal Colleges, parent groups, local hospital trusts and NHS organisations.
Our team are always open to suggestions to new ideas, improvements and iterations to the pathways so feel free to contact us at bereavementcare@sands.org.uk
